I'm looking for some photos of Swinton and Pendlebury's coal mines and mills.
I've managed to find some pictures of Agecroft Colliery in 1983 from BBC's website. I was trying to find some photos, simply to see some of the places where my ancestors worked. I'm not sure which collieries they worked in, but I'm pretty sure it would have been Newtown or Moss.
However any photos of the old mines and factories of Swinton and Pendlebury would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know of any websites etc. that might be handy? It is unfortunate that the mining museum in Buile Hill closed down!!

Hiya Benjy,
Try Manchester Community Forum (http://www.manchester-forum.co.uk) too.
Some of their members may have some old photographs or know of a person who has old photographs.
Good luck with your research.
