Hi there i am new to Irish genealogy and i am trying to figure out how to locate a Rose Ann Hadden who was born in Antrim on 20 May 1840. All i know is that she came to South Australia in 1863. Is there any census's i can look at or birth records anywhere. Where do i go from here.
I would love to know as i have come across a few from Ireland.
Thank you kindly.

Hello Sheryl,
There are three items required when searching for Irish ancestors.
1. Denomination.
2. Parish.
3. Townland.
You'll have to rely on Church records as your ancestors were born before Civil Registration was introduced in Ireland. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.

As already mentioned civil registration of births, deaths and Catholic marriages began 1864 (from 1845 for other marriages).
First complete census of Ireland is 1901. For earlier years only small fragments for a few places survive.
If Rose was married or died in Australia do those certificates give any more details like dateand place of birth, parents' names, etc.?
