Post by: joxer42 on Sunday 07 January 07 18:31 GMT (UK)
Hi. I am doing some research on my Ancestors and have found this book in the local library it's called Steelopolis  The Making of Motherwell 1750-1939 by Robert Duncan.  It has old maps and many photo's and lots of local history.

                     Cheers  Joxer42

Hi

Would this book be in Motherwell Library?  Do you know if it has any information on the Nelson family from Motherwell?

Jean

Hi Jean,
I have the book out on loan from a Hamilton Library until 16-1 07,
Motherwell Heritage Centre local history dept. also, have a copy but it is for reference only. Remember it's name Steelopolis.

The only Nelson I did know was David who was a Bricklayer in Dalzell Steel-
Works in Motherwell 1960, who would now have passed on.

             Cheers  John
