Hi ricky,
Thanks for those that's fantastic. Bonus having father in law listed too certainly gives easier leads to follow.
Can I be a devil and ask someone to please find the family in 1841 as well pretty please????
Another hot one here today was above 30 degree C all night!
Thanks in advance,
Lilygirl.

Hi Lilygirl
I think the father in law should be Burbidge
There is a marriage in 1842 for this person
Henry Doughton Pulford
1842
Dec Quarter
St James
Westminster
London/Middlesex
vol 1
page 99
On the same page are a list of people, one of the names mentioned is
Elizabeth Burbidge Smith.
So it might be a possible

Hi lillgirl,
If you are interested in Pulford you might be interested in my website. http://ccgi.lasadev.plus.com/getperson.php?personID=I1518&tree=Pulfords I have Jesse, but for some unknown reason I do not have the census entries for her. So far I have not established a relationship with this family 'Pulford the tailors of St James'.
Are you part of that family and have you managed to get further back than us.
If you are interested there is tons of entries in the London Gazette, which is on-line, concerning the changing hands of the Tailors business.
I will put in the census entries that seem to be missing.

I have just found a French website which seems to refer to Robert Pulford's tailoring business, but my French is not up to the translation
http://www.sabredefrance.eu/makers/auctions.php?cID=826
Are there any French linguists out there? Am I correct in understanding the Pulfords produced swords as well?
Thanks and Regards
Peter
