Sarah B 1829 Hemblington
Also
Charles Horner B 1831 South Walsham

Any help would be very much appreciated

Hello
do you have occupations for these guys to help pinpont + were there any children?
-
Hi Ell,
Matthew was an agricultural Labourer the children i know of are Charlotte B 1851 and John B 1853 both born in South Walsham.
In 1861 they were living in Burlingham Road, Hemblington.
Charles was also an Agricultural Labourer. He married Eliza in 1856 and the only child i have is Charles B 1858 in Hemblington. I hav'nt got the 1861 census for him so i dont know where he was at that time.
Sometimes the name is transcribed as Harmer?? Dont know if this helps
Thanks for all your help
Kindest Regards

me again
I have looked thro the 1871 & 81 census & I think that the freeBMD's give a bit of a clue here:
Birth - Charlotte - Blofield Mar 1851 - 13/20
Marriage - Matthew to Sarah Blayes - Norwich Jun 1848 - 13/451
Death - Eliza - Blofield Sept 1851 - 13/11
Death Charles (age 37) - Norwich Jun 1848 - 13/451
Death - John (aged 18) - Blofield Jun 1870 - 4b/131
next stage, ignoring the surname altogether (found also Hornor & Homer & Homar), in 1871 there is only one Sarah born c 1822 Hemblington and her surname is Snowley & her family are registered under that so cannot be her - tried the same with John & Matthew & nothing - done the same for 1881 & zilch so, I think that young John dies (as above) & Matthew (although I cannot find a death registered, but thats not unusual)
On the 1861 census, there is a Charles showing born c 1831 (if Eliza died earlier this would make sense) +, there is a Charles born c1857 Blofield shown as a son to a John & Sarah Horner who, could be looking after him/lived with them if the Eliza death is correct & they would not necessarily have put him down as adopted etc.
Supposition thus far on my part but worth digging into more

Hi Ell,
Thank you for all your help it is very much appreciated. I think the birth of Charlotte 1851, marriage of Mattew & sarah in 1848 and the death of John 1870 are all correct.
However Charles did'nt marry Eliza untill 1856 so the death of Eliza cant be the right one. Also i have found Charles death in 1867 aged 37. I think you are right with Eliza having died but its somewhere between 1856 & 1861.
I would be very interested in the full details that you mention of the Charles you have found in 1861 born 1831 and also the other Charles B 1857 Blofield living with John & Sarah Horner ( Charles does have a brother John ) this is a very good possibility, THank YOU!!!
Regarding Matthew i have been digging around looking for him as he seemed to disappear off the face of the earth. But i did a random search in the 1881 and there is a Matthiew Horner B 1822 in America living with an Elizabeth so i wonder whether his wife Sarah died as well as his children in which case he might have felt he had to get away?
Kindest Regards
