He was born about 1870, well post 1864 when general registration started so why not search in the indexes?
The indexes are available at the Dublin GRO, at PRONI in Belfast and on film at your local family history centre.

Realise it isn't much, but if you are also researching the historical interest aspect of your tree, the following McMeekins in Ballyclare signed the Ulster Covenant in 1912, some may be your line:
McMeekin William J Doagh Antrim: East Ballyclare
McMeekin John Doagh Antrim: East Ballyclare
McMeekin John Ballyclare Antrim: East Ballyclare
McMeekin Robert Millvale Antrim: East Ballyclare
McMeekin John Ballypallady Antrim: East Ballyclare
McMeekin D.M. Ballyheartfield Doagh Antrim: East Ballyclare
McMeekin John Ballyclare Antrim: East Ballyclare
If you go to http://www.proni.gov.uk/ulstercovenantsearch and just type the surname only in the search facility, you can view all McMeekins who signed the Covenant. Some have addresses but unfortunately none have ages. Actual signature of person can be viewed/downloaded by clicking on the png column.

HI
Thanks Kate and Scotmum for your help.
I'm in england so untill i Get time to take a holiday to Ireland can't search index's for Ireland, wish there was a site for Ireland like 1837 on-line would save alot of trouble.
And they charge you in Ireland to search the index's or so their site says, and the certificates cost more. But there i have to have them, so a Holiday i think is in order.
Many thanks again
