I am researching a Robert Weare born 3 August 1857 at 4 Rosemary Street, St Pauls, Bristol. He was involved with the Socialist movement in Bristol and set up the Bristol Socialist Society among other organisations. He worked for the Schweppes Company from the age of 12 as a bottle washer and label sticker. He enventually moved to Liverpool for Schweppes as a foreman, where he retired and later died in Birkenhead on the 14 July 1920. I am interested in information on his children and possible descendents. The children are Lily, Robert, Alfred, Ellen, Winnie and Miriam. Any information would be gratefully recieved.

Hi Mitchthemonk
Welcome to Rootschat! ;)
That sounds like an interesting man to research and how fabulous to have a photo!
Are you researching him as a relation or is it a project? I expect you have census info, but if you need assistance please ask.
good luck!
kind regards, Arranroots ;)

Hello, he is a relative on my wifes side of the family. The research for Bristol revovles around the Thomas, Barnes and the Weare's. I have only recently found the information on him, it shows he had a poor start to his life as he was kicked out to work at the age of 9. Apparently his parents were some of the poorest in St Pauls in Bristol. He self educated himself to speak and teach French. His talents are quite amazing considering his start in life. The information I am in need of is his children as I am stumped after 1910. Any leads would be gratefully acknowledged.

Hello I am Robert Weare's great granddaughter. His granddaughter is my mother and my grandmother was his daughter Minnie. I have some information I can help you with, although it is many years since you posted.

Hi Adam, how can I help you regarding Robert Weare my great grandfather?
-
Hi Rosebud3 - I'm related to Robert and many other Weares myself, so I'd be happy to connect. I'm assuming your mother is Muriel or Patricia? Email removed

Hello
I am researching and writing a biography of Doreen Wickremasinghe nee Young - the grandaughter of Robert Weare. Her father was W.W.Young. I have information on him and Doreen though I only have the published information on Robert Weare.

Hi Adam, I have only just seen your post and it had," email removed," so I don't know why that is.
Yes my mother is Muriel and she is 94 going on 95 in May 2019. Pat was my auntie and we saw her quite a bit but unfortunately she was put into a retirement home by her husband, unnecessarily and quickly passed away. What sort of things would you like to know? Muriel had 3 girls, Jennifer, Rosemary and Christine. Her husband David passed away in 1956. Pat married a widower with 3 girls, Darrien, Hillary and Suzanne who were very hard for her to get on with in the course of her life with them. Robert Wear's daughter, Minnie Charlotte Wear married William Tuzo, Muriel and Pat's parents and we lived with Minnie after my father (David) died so mum (Muriel) could work.
Please tell me what information you would like to know. Best Regards, Rosebud3.

Hello Rosebud
I have details of your family in a familyu tree relating to Robert Weare's grandaughter, Doireen Wickremasinghe, nee Young. She spent most of her life in Sri lanka and I am in touch with Mahinsa - Doreen's nephew, a Sri lankan now living in Australia.
