Title: Where is Aston?
Post by: narelle on Thursday 28 December 06 05:03 GMT (UK)
In a photo Album which belonged to my great, great, grandmother, Eliza Nicholls nee Banks, is a photo of a middle aged gentleman who I think is possibly one of her brothers.

The photo was taken by "Tippetts "
                                         8 Lozells Rd
                                         Aston.
To help me to try to determine who the gentleman is, is there someone who is able to tell me where Aston is situated?

Thank you,
Narelle
Australia.

Hi narelle ,  I think you will find Aston is in the Birmingham Area. My Great Grandfather worked at Aston Hall.

Hi

I don't want to throw a spanner in the works but there are 17 Astons listed in my road atlas so I guess it's a case of finding out which one has a Lozells Road, not such a common name.

You are right Tuscany - not many Lozells to the pound!

Birmingham B19 according to this map and Lozells is right next door to Aston.

Well done, Helina

Thanks heavens for that Arran I just looked in the index because I knew there was more than one, not realising there were that many.
