Here's a start. Unfortunately I don't have all of the indexes. Anne is not to be foung in anything I have.
SDAWSON
Thomas Hebberd
Spouse Surname: RORKE
Spouse Gvn Names Jane
Born: PENZANCE
-
The reverse marriage entry shows that Jane Rorke was born Cavan, which I believe is a county in Ireland.
I better rewrite that in case the copyright editor deletes it before you read it ;D
Thomas Hebbard DAWSON married Jane RORKE 1870 in Victoria
Reg number: 3487 His birthplace shown as Penzance.
They do not appear to have had any children in Victoria up to 1888. May have gone interstate right away - or even to New Zealand.
A marriage nor death not found for Ann up to 1888. There is a death in 1898 -
for an Ann DAWSON, parents unknown, aged 46, Kew Lunatic Asylum #12564
Cannot know if she is yours without the death certificate - she may be a married woman, from a different birthplace.
But it appears that they went elsewhere - interstate or New Zealand - no death for Thomas to 1901.

I do not have the 1902-1913 cd.
The next one shows this death...
Thomas Hebberd DAWSON, died Camperdown, 1920, aged 71
father: Thomas Sandy Dawson, mother Mary Kelynack
# 13463
age pretty spot one, mother's forename right - it is not uncommon to have a wrong one on a death cert.

Thankyou so much Christine
Gives me enough to keep going.

Thankyou Christine
The Ann Dawson who died in Kew Lunatic Asylum is not mine as far as I know but that surprises me. Will put her aside for the future.
Thomas definately is, thankyou, is Camperdown Vic or NSW.
Really appreciate your help.

Merry Christmas Genni
Thanks for that info has given me more to work on but also given me a problem & have been back tracking to see if I could sort it out.
I thought Hannah was Thomas Sander Dawsons child. Her death shows father as Thomas, mother as Hannah but the husband may not have known because her mother Mary died when Hannah was 2 & Thomas Sander quickly remarried to Mary's cousin Ann & they had another 10 children. Her grandmother was Hannah. I think for now it is best to assume an error in the death record. What do you think.

Butting in, death records are the least reliable for the name of parents - they are only as good as the knowledge of the informant. Hannah's parents will be named on her marriage certificate - presuming that she knows the correct names herself. I have a couple of people who named their parents incorrectly - twice - on two different marriages for the same person - due to losing one or two parents early in life.

Hi Ruth
Anna & Hannah are interchangeable names. I would imagine as she was so young when her mother died, she would have thought her father's 2nd wife was her mother.
Considering Thomas & Ann called a daughter Ann when she was born in 1868, leans to the orginal Anna really being Hannah.
The marriage certificate would confirm, who Hannah's parents were.
