Hi
My ggrandmother was Grace Emily Brown (ne Tucker) of Bristol - born 12th. October 1885. Lost every trace of her after 1910. Have gone through the BMD 1910-1950 but no luck. Have a J77/78 search at the moment.
Looking for Tuckers of Bedminster, Bristol, Horfield. I“m more or less "up to date" until 1910.
Tuckers could be married to Cummins, Perry, Smith, Witts.
Have a name and address - written 1930-1950:
E. Witts
5 Churchway Avenue, Horfield.
Anyone know anything about this person/address?
::)

I have a Tucker connection in Horfield - what were Grace's parent's names?
-
Hi :)
Fathers name Edward Henry Tucker, b. Combe St. N. ab. 1853, m. Barton R. 1878, d. Bedminster 1920
Mothers name Ellen Amelia Tucker (ne Cummins), b. Clifton 1848, d. after 1901
The J78/J77 1911-1925 search on Grace Emily Brown (ne Tucker) was negative.

Oh well, can't see a connection there, but it was worth a try. I have an Bedminster ancestor Emily Andrews who was reported to marry a Tucker but I have trouble tracking it down.
thanks for letting me know, have a great Christmas.

Hi Louise
Do you know when your Emily Andrews was born? The name or other informations of this Tucker? You wrote something about a Tucker - Horfield connection. Did they live in Horfield?
And a great Christmas 2 U

Hi Egdal,
Could your Grace have married again :-\ :-\
-
Hi :)
Yes she could have married again. Just made a J78 search 1911-1925 at The National Archives - NO luck :( Cost me £60 Shows that she would have been Grace Emily Brown in 1925 and 40 years old. Being alone i think she must have stayed close to the Bedminster/Bristol family.
What I know is that my ggrandfather and she split 1911-1915. And she lost and never saw her 3 children again - among them my grandmother.

Hi :)
The only informations I have pointing to the time after 1910 is:
The death of Graces father juli 1920 - living 4 Ashton Gate Road, Bedminster. Have ordered his will.
And the marriage of her brothers and sister:
William Joseph Tucker to Alice Constance W. Venn. 4.q. 1903 Bristol
Lillie Louisa Ellen Tucker to Harry Perry. 4.q. 1910 Bristol
George Henry Tucker to Frances D. Grimmer. 3.q. 1915 Bristol
Daisy Annie Tucker to Harold H. Smith. 2.q.1914 Kingston.

My Bedminster/Horfield etc. Tucker connection is actually very tenuous. My Gt.Grandmother's sister was supposed to have married a man called Tucker. Apparently they were the parents of Sam Tucker who was a famous Bristol rugby player. I can't find anything to back this up, but can't find anything to disprove it either. Emily Andrews(my gt grandmother's sister) was one of 10 girls so there could have been confusion about which sister and I suspect Sam Tucker may in fact have been a grandson, not son of one of them. All I know is Sam Tucker was born John Samuel Tucker in 1895. One day I'll order his birth certificate just to get it out of my system!
thanks, Louise

Hi again
I wonder whether she moved in with someone, and then took his name,I have a relative who started off as a boarder, and in the next census she was "wife" ,but they never married.....it does sound as though she might have had an affair, with her husband having the children...A sad story.
-
Hi :) Yes may be the only way to order his birth cert. I have NO John Samuel Tucker in my Tucker line (at this moment) ;) Thanks.

Hi :)
She might have mowed in with someone. Thats why it might be interesting to find out about E. Witts, 5 Churchways Avenue, Horfield. My grandmother told shortly before she died that she knew her mothers address and had written it "somewhere" - she never contacted her. Found this address behind and old drawing - no one in my family knows about this person or address. The only thing I have found out is that the 1901 census shows a Witt family living at the same street as Grace.

Hello. We are searching for some Tuckers. We can only go back to a Samuel Mason Tucker (born 1818) who married Julia A. Delaney (from Paris, France). They had children one of whom was George Henry Tucker born in 1850. We do know that Julia was born in Paris in came to the US when she was 2. I have reason to believe that Samuel Mason Tucker's father's name was George Henry and his Mother's name may have been Sarah, Ann or Sarah Ann.
Does any of this fit into your research?
-
Hello Kerri.
Does not fit into my research - but you never know. Before 1875 my Tuckers were of Somerset and before 1760 the could be of Devon.
Do you know where your Samuel Mason Tucker was born?
Do you know when did Samul go to the USA? Immigration records?
What do you know of Julia“s parents? The Mason be could be both a UK and a French name and could indicate that mothers maiden name was Mason.
-
Hello.
We believe Samuel Mason Tucker was born in New York. But we cannot locate a birth certificate indicating who his parents were.
We cannot locate anything on Julia A. Delaney Tucker's parents either. She came over from Paris at the age of 2. I dont believe we can locate any immigration documents on her either which would indicate her parents.
So Mason could either be French or UK? Interesting.
THanks so much for your input! I'll try to see if I can come up with some better dates etc. and post again. I am just getting started on this project.
