Hi all,
Is this possibly anything to do with silversmiths. I have an ancestor who was a silversmith around 1838 and have found a will for the same name with occupation "plated mounter" for 1857. Any chance it could be the same person?

Mounter is a occupational term used in siversmithing and goldsmithing. The 'plated' could refer to Sheffield Plate or Electroplate.

Many thanks Stan. That means it could well be my ancestors will, that would be a first as we are not renowned for leaving anything!
