Hi Ginnybegood
I can't help with your Mctigue family sorry but noticed this is your first post on rootschat and thought I would say welcome and wish you success with your Clare interest.

Hi Ginny, and let me also welcome you to Rootschat.
I wonder if this was one of your grandmother's relatives:
Mike was born on the farm in the parish of Kilnamona, near Ennis, County Clare, on 26 November 1892. He shared work on the farm with his twelve brothers and one sister until he was 16 when he took a job with a local blacksmith to raise the fare for his emigration to the United States.

Here is a link to County Clare library and you will notice obits for a number of McTeagues. http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/champions/championm8.htm
And this is their page on genealogy holdings.

Hope this helps.

Hello Ginnybegood,
Griffiths Valuation of Co. Clare in 1855 listed the surname McTighe in the following parishes: Drumcliff, Kilchreest and Killimer.
