Hello :)
I've currently hit a rather large brick wall concerening the birth and parentage of my Ancestor JAMES BULLEY.
James states on Census records that he was born in KENN and EXMINSTER c.1808
Searches of both PR's for these Parishes have drawn a blank.
A search of A2A shows James apprenticed at age 8 in KENN, Devon. Bulley children also apprenticed in KENN who may be related to James in some way are:
MARY BULLEY born c.1807
JANE BULLEY born c.1808
WILLIAM BULLEY born c.1810
In 1833 James married SARAH WOOD in St Gregorys Church, DAWLISH. Their marriage entry states James as being OTP with a witness of the marriage being a JOHN BULLEY.
Has anyone any information regarding the BULLEYS of this area who may be able to shed some light as to where James was born.
Any help gratefully appreciated

Hi Karin,
I can't help you with info. on James Bulley or his parentage, but I am a descendant of his daughter Eliza Jane Bulley b. 1835 Dawlish & m. Jospeh Brimicombe 1855 & came to NZ c1856.
Would love to hear from you regarding Eliza's siblings etc. & swap info.
Noeleen.

Have you tried http://www.devonfhs.org.uk/? They have booklets with christenings, marriages and deaths. I have Bulleys in my line but it is a very common name in Devon.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion. I've already tried the DFHS name search. This proved very helpfull with marriages and baptisms after 1811 but James was born between 1806 and 1808 so hasn't been picked up on any of the transcribed entries.
There was a John Bulley on the list born in Dawlish, so I'm going to start checking that lead soon.
