Title: 1841/1851 census look up George Broomhead
Post by: Eltrick on Saturday 02 December 06 20:18 GMT (UK)
Hi
Can anyone find George Broomhead on 1841or 1851 Census.
His son Charles b.1828to1830 is also missing. There is a George Broomhead on this census in the Debtors Gaol Scotland St.This could be him but how do I confirm this or where his wife and family were at the time.
I dont know his wife's first name or whether Charles had siblings.
Charles was born Sheffield He married his second wife in1855.He was living on Bright St and his wife on Pearl St.Both he and father George were Razorsmiths
I would really appreciate any help on this
Thank You
Audrey

1881
this could be Charles. If so it will help with details for earlier census
Charles Broomhead 50 scissor grinder b Sheffield
Emily 45 wife b Sheffield
Charles 13 son  ditto
Joseph 14 son  ditto
address 30 Wolsley Road Eccleshall Bierlow
RG11 4637 folio 113 p 26

Cant see anything on 51.Who did Charles marry.maybe his mum or dad are living with him on later census. The trouble with Sheffield is everyones a cutler scissor grinder or razor maker.

Hi Isobellruss
This is not my Charles ,although they are of similar age.
His 2nd wife is Mary Ann and their children were
Arthur Eliza Herbert Albert Charles Edwin Rosina and John
Thank you for trying,I'm hitting a brick wall all the time.I know they could be missing from a census but for 2 census's well its very inconsiderate of them!!
