Hi
William Dovey Wynn died 1896 as Jericho alludes to and is buried at green Island. Elizabeth died 1911 and is buried in the same plot.
Ann married daniel Munro in1874.
An Elizabeth Jones Wynn married a John Quick Mitchell in 1876 but there is none other recorded about that time especially to a Croucher. The next Eliabeth to marry was Elizabeth Bell Wynn(*).
Emma married John New in 1883.
William Henry Wynn married Esther Mary Vernon Arnold in 1896.
Margaret married Alexander Murdoch McSwan in 1887.

Thanks for your help The Elizabeth Wynn you mention has me lost. Of all the Wynn children i have been able to find some small details except for Elizabeth. Make me think i might have the surname wrong.
-
It just dawned on me i was told a Wynn child died while playing on a picket fence which resulted in her death. Do you know if a Elizabeth Wynn is buried at Green Island Cemetery
-
Short answer is no. The only other Elizabeth on the City Council Cemetery database was buried in 1918. You can access it on...

Thank you for the information i can now see that there were 2 Wynn families in the Dunedin area. Regarding Elizabeth Wynn i think i need to try and find some solid information to whom she married. I keep getting the impression she may have died not long after she married. If she married? Cause little is known about her or the Croucher surname. Of all contacts i have had nothing is known of her. eg no known children. Elizabeth was born in c1857. and arrived in NZ with her parents on the "Leucadia" 1870. So i presume if she married it would be around 1880. Thanking everyone who has help me with this. I will try digging around the internet and maybe potluck i might find something solid. regards Cindy

Hi,
Yes i understand what you are saying cause i thought the same thing. Age seem right, year, place of birth and even the Jones surname has been carried down through her mothers grandmother. I was totally convinced until i saw the Edwin Wynn Croucher WW1. I am waiting on a distance cousin who is going to write to his cousins who met some of the Wynn Family and see what information they can remember. Maybe fill in some details. So at the moment i will just wait. I have loaded in my tree program she married John Quick Mitchell cause it seems right. Maybe some viewers out there might come up with something positive. regards Cindy

The Edwin Wynn Croucher exercising your mind is buried with what appears to be his second wife Dora in the Kelvin Grove Cemetery in Palmerson North. He died in 1952. Also buried there are an older couple who might be his parents. Harry Croucher and his wife Elizabeth. They died 1945 and 1946 respectively. This cemetery is on line at http://www.pncc.govt.nz/Council/Services/CemeteriesDatabase.htm
There is no record of the older Harry being married in NZ but Edwin seems to have married in 1919 and then again in 1932.
Palmerston North is a long way from Dunedin.
-
Thanks for finding that for me. So the possibility of Elizabeth Wynn marriage to John Quck Mitchell is looking more certain. Where the Croucher surname came into it i do not know. The Elizabeth Croucher buried there isnt born in C1857. I think i will now concertrate on the Mitchell surname. Its just makes sense.

Good evening is this addressed to Delboy?
I am researching the Rambaud family and have I think ALL of Papa F.J.Rambaud's first and second marriages but need clarification on some matters. Also I have a photograph that I think is Percy Huia at the Chelsea sugar workers picnic in his navy uniform
