I am trying to trace the parents of John Laverick born MonkWearmouth in 1825 hopefully this will lead to other siblings and James Tasker born c.1785 in Berkshire/Oxfordshire his last place of residence was South Hinksey. If you can help with either of these I will be so grateful as they are major brickwalls!!!

I have a William Bateman born Ware, Herts in 1712 married Mary Elsom 1731 at Bengeo - then also one getting married to Ann Lambert in Great Amwell in 1795 - but a rather large gap of 64 years in between with no Batemans in the Ware Area.

and also not sure if this applies here but James HURST b. 1882 (maybe 1883) in Wigan parents are Thomas HURST and Ellen nee BRyan

When you have a moment, would you be kind enough to see if you can find any reference to:

David Polhill GREEN(E) in the Kent area - most likely in Sevenoaks (but many other family members settled in the St Pancras area - just to add to the confusion!)

His son - also David Polhill GREEN(E) - was christened in Sevenoaks on 4th October 1782.

I would love to be able to find some siblings for him or the marriage of his Father.

I have a copy of the Parish Record showing a marriage between David GREENE and Mary RIGGLESFORD on 3rd June 1782 in Chevening, Kent.

This may or may not be the man I'm looking for so any extra information the BVRI brings to light would be most gratefully received.

I guess I don't know how the search works. The name is Beverley Smyth but do you mean you can't specify a first name in the search?

Possible counties are Cork, Tipperary and Dublin around 1700, 1760 and 1813 respectively but I was hoping for some generations in between.

Would you be so kind to see if you can locate a James Tasker born c.1785 in Oxford City. He was transported to Tasmania in 1820 aged 35 and I have also found Buckinghamshire mentioned in his papers but he was residing in the parish of South Hinksey at the time of his arrest which I believe is in Berkshire. I'm sorry Audrey but I have no other information to make the search easier. He is one of my major brickwalls to put it mildly. Any help will be much appreciated.

I would be very grateful if you could check for any info on my great grandfather John Michael Ryan born City of Waterford 1854. His father's name was Michael Ryan, also of City of Waterford. John left Ireland in 1872, and married in Pembroke, Wales, in 1874. These are the only details I have, because he died in 1878, and I managed to get copies of his marriage and death certs from Pembroke Record Office. It is possible his mother's name could have been Ellen, as my father always told me his mother had been named after her (Mary Ellen).

Many thanks for your generous offer to do lookups - I see you've been inundated, but if you could do one lookup for me to help with one of my brickwalls, I'd be very grateful.

I'm looking for the birth/christening of one ROBERT THOMAS JONES. He would have been born in 1875 or 1876 - I can find him in 1901 and have a possible for 1891, but cannot find him anywhere on the 1881 census. He gives his father as Richard Jones on his marriage certificate (1900) but I don't know his mother's name.

His birthplace on the 1901 is given as Guilsfield, Montgomeryshire - but I suspect it was somewhere within the Guilsfield census district (eg Pool Quay) rather than the village of Guilsfield. This would be within the Llanfyllin civil registration district.

I am struggling with two of my ancestors. Please can you see if there is anything on a Thomas Tiley.

He was the father of my ggf William Tiley b c1837 (before the onset of compulsory registration) in Stockwell (then in Surrey). William married Elizabeth Mary Hunt in 1859 in Yaxley nr Peterborough. I got Thomas's name from the marriage cert.

In LDS IGI there is a christening of William Tiley at St Mathew Brixton where the parents were a Thomas & Eliza. However I can not determine whether this is the right family.

So far I have not been able to find any more information re Thomas. Please can you help.

The other ancestors causing problems are the parents of my gf Thomas Saward.

If you do not mind looking at the post under England general "Saward family" you will see the names and the discrepancies that are causing my difficulties. It is possible that there may have been two families involved or there have been some formal or informal adoptions along the way. But data on the births of virtually all of Thomas's siblings seems to be non existent - although a Warwick Sayward withe right birth date has just appeared on ancestry.com. The location is probably Middlesex with Islington being the favourite location.

If you can help it would be appreciated.

I don't know how extensive marriage records are for that neck of the woods, but is there a chance of you checking for the marriage of
my John WETTON to an Elizabeth - I guess around 1854 and probably in Stone.
Or for a marriage for George BLOOR to an Elizabeth at around the same time - not sure whether that would be Stone as Eliz gives her birth place as Blurton in a later census.

He was born somewhere in Manchester in 1817 or 1818 and his father was called William Fildes.

Thanks for that - are there any other candidates not in Northumberland? His first child was born in 1804, so I dont think the John in Longbenton could be him. One census shows his birthplace as 'not northumberland'!

I have a ggggrddad William Dolan, his son John Dolan married in 1840, so I have guesstimated John was born abut 1820+- 2 years and William Dolan would have been born 1799+-2or 3years. They lived in Manchester in 1840. I am not sure whether John and or his father William were born in Manchester or in Ireland.
If you could help with this WOW I would have a major brick wall crumble. By the way I know Johns wife was Elizabeth Merner, but I dont know William Dolan's wife.
Hope you can help, you are a real angel to help everyone so much.

I'm trying to track down PREECE ancestors in Shropshire. There are loads of them, but it would really help if you could please find two marriages:

Benjamin PREECE (b c1794, Worthen) to Sarah? (b c1804)

Benjamin PREECE (b c1841, Stapleton) to Sarah? (b c1850)

The two Benjamins are father and son, and the families lived in villages near Shrewsbury - Stapleton, Condover, Exfords Green, Worthen.

I'd also be interested to find out anything about James PREECE of Exfords Green who died 6 March 1866.

I can see you've been kept very busy since posting your kind offer and I understand if you don't have time for this one!
