Title: WILLIAM CARTER SOYLAND SOWERBY
Post by: yorkshire lad on Saturday 25 November 06 14:12 GMT (UK)
Can anyone search the 1841 census for me.
I am looking for William Carter born 1820/21 in Soyland or Sowerby. The 1861 census puts his birth place as Soyland, Halifax, West Yorkshire. The 1851 census puts his birth place as Sowerby, Halifax, West Yorkshire. I know his father was called James Carter but thats it. I would like to know his mothers name and any immediate family members. Without the 1841 census I am pretty much stuck.
Thanks,
Yorkshire Lad.

Ok, where was he residing when he gave these places of birth.?
(Theres very little geographically between them).

You have his father's name; do you also have his occupation?

Pauline

Did you ever connect with any Carters in the Doncaster / Cantley area?
