My great uncle, Arthur Davies, died on the HMS Auckland during the Second World War. I only have one photo of him and was wondering if anyone has any old photos of the crew aboard HMS Auckland during 1940/41.

Hi.
My father survived the sinking of HMS Auckland in 1941. I do have a number of photographs of him + crew mates during WWII although they are not marked to identify which of his ships they are from. Although he died in 1982 I do remember he thought fondly of "the Auckland" and seemed to have happy memories of her and his shipmates.
Have a look at my website where I've posted the images and see if anyone there reminds you of your Arthur. I would be very pleased to know if they do:

Hi Blen868,
Many thanks for allowing me to look at your website. The photo of the seaman in uniform with the football team looks very much like my great uncle.
