Post by: bossall on Sunday 19 November 06 12:21 GMT (UK)
My ancestor John Rose  was recorded in the 1841 census as being an attorney, he lived in Cloudesley Square, Islington. Can anyone advise me how I might track him down at his proffession ???

you could try A2A (Access to Archives) and/or the National Archives site ... a search revealed this in response to 'Register of Attorneys' ..

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/displaycataloguedetails.asp?CATID=10412&CATLN=3&Highlight=%2CREGISTER%2COF%2CATTORNEYS%2CREGISTER%2COF%2CATTORNEYS&accessmethod=0

Failing that, the London Metropolitan Archives perhaps ...

Or failing that, what about the Law Society.

Hello Bossall,

John Rose of Cloudesley Square is also an ancestor of mine! I have information about him and his descendants which I would be happy to share with you. Perhaps you we could exchange contact details?

Best Wishes,

Matthew
