Title: Elizabeth WEBB bc 1839 Mildenhall
Post by: boumboum on Friday 17 November 06 13:51 GMT (UK)
Hello

could anyone please help? I've finally found the surname of my great great grandmother, Elizabeth Webb, who was born in Mildenhall - but the IGI doesn't have her. I'd be glad of any information available on Elizabeth and her family?

She ended up married to John Norton Bamford although I've not found a marriage - and he also had another wife at the time. Any marriage info between Elizabeth and John also welcomed.

Thanks very much

Hi Amanda

I cannot help with the PRs, but I note from the 81/91/01 census entries for Elizabeth that her birthyear does vary a bit - from 1837 - 1840.

I cannot find an Elizabeth born around these dates in Mildenhall on the 1841 census, but I did find one born around 1835.  The 41 does not record marital status, relationships within families or exact place of birth.  It only indicates whether or not someone was born in the census county.  Adult ages are often rounded down to nearest 5.

Taken from Mildenhall PR

Elizabeth d/o Robert and Ann Webb (late Philips) bap 7th June 1835.

I checked for Elizabeth's marriage ~1855 but could not find it at Mildenhall.

As supplied by suffolk*sue, I did find the marriage of Elizabeth's parents, 25th Dec 1832, both signed X, presence of Mary Webb and John Purkes.

Best wishes
Anne
