Hi Emma,
Thank you so much. That's Fantastic. I have just made contact with a rellie here in Oz and you have given me brothers that she did not know about. So I'll be doing my little English/Irish/German Jig. She has done so much research on the Leonards, it will be great for me to add my bit too. Cheers Ferndale.

I am researching the Leonards for a friend, who is a direct descendant and lives in UK.
With help from members of Family Tree Forum, I have now found out quite a lot including the names of the Leonard family who went to Australia.
1851:
Thomas Leonard b1788 Abergavenny, Monmouthsire.
Superannuated Excise Officer
Wife: Margaret b1826 Westminster, London
Dau: Emily Augusta b1826 St Mary's, Lambeth, London
Lodger - a congregational minister.
2 Trinity Cottages. Civil parish: Heston Ecc parish: Hounslow. Reg district Brentford, Middx. Sub reg: Isleworth.
Thomas's son Frederick changed his name to Reynolds although some members of the family used Leonard for official purposes like certs. I have quite a bit of info.
Do get in touch or visit my thread on Family Tree Forum Research Q & A section about Ethel Annie Leonard born 1904. FTF is free and a great website. :)

Hi Jenfrom Lancs and "Rellie next door"
Hi Jen,
Have logged on to your thread on FAMILY TREE FORUM' and you have lots of info that I don't have.
I have my sick mother with me for the next couple of days, so please excuse this short note. Just touching base.
If you google Monaro Pioneers there are 2 articles. One for William and Sarah (nee Leonard) Stapleton and one for John and Mary (nee Leonard) Jaggers. Mary and Sarah are sisters .Mary and John Jaggers Married 30/5/1830, at St George Church Hanover Square, West Minster, London and were at Bathurst when Sarah and Elizabeth arrived in 1839. Sarah Married William Stapleton. They are my 3x Gt Grandparents.
John Dugdale (who wrote the articles on the Stapletons in the Monaro Pioneers are in contact. His gr. Father and My 2x gt gr father were brothers (Ithink I have that right, I am a bit brian dead at the moment.
Trove Newspapers have quite a few artiles on Wm and Sarah Stapleton.
Sarah died in 1893 Manly Sydney nsw (I have a photo ofher grave), and I think I have just found William's death in Victoria 1876, but even with dth cert still unable to prove where he was born.
Will close for now, be back in touch soon, Cheers Dale.
