Can someone tell me where I can find WWII information. There are 2 of my husband's uncles that I would like to see if there are any service records or medals awarded to them. Both were from Liverpool, England. This is what I do know:
Billy (William) Wright - seaman - King George V battleship
John Stanley - army - push into the Rhine with Montgomery
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi ubam
Unfortunately, under the usual closure rules, only the individual concerned or, if (s)he is deceased, the next of kin, can apply for WW2 service records.
Do they have any living children who you could persuade to help?
It will probably cost about £30 for each one and you may have to wait several months for them. I think you will also need to know what regiment John Stanley was in and, because the names are fairly common, you may need their army/navy numbers and/or their date and place of birth to identify them.
Regards, Bill

Hi Bill. Both men are deceased and yes there are children though the "Canadian Stanley" cousins haven't had much to do with the "English Stanley" cousins. I may have to get my father-in-law to talk to them as it was his brother and brother-in-law.
Appreciate your help.
