Title: BLUE in Glasgow in 1861?
Post by: gblue42 on Sunday 05 November 06 23:11 GMT (UK)
Hi all,

Monica suggested I post a query in this section regarding John Blue and family in Glasgow in 1861.  She suspects the record may have been mis-transcribed.  See this message (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,181002.msg877166.html#msg877166) in the Argyllshire area.  Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you Joe.  He's a bit old for the family I'm interested in he may be related.  What's the name of the family with which he was boarding?

Could be.  When I saw Colin, I instantly thought of one of Dugald's brothers and then saw the age.  I shouldn't jump to conclusions.

I'm curious about the family where Colin was boarding.  The most plausible theory about John's non-appearance in the 1861 census is that the last name was mistranscribbed.  If Colin was boarding with a family named "lew" or "bue" or something else close it could be a missing piece of the puzzle.
