Hi
Could someone explain whyI am suddenly getting a prompt for Genealogy.org everytime I move about on Rootschat. This has only happened in the last five minutes and I'm not aware of clicking on any links, etc.
See below for what is happening:
Gadget ???
PS - it's driving me mad, I'm going to log out and log back in to see if it goes away!

Hi, it's happening to me too.
That's why I thought I'd come on here to see if anyone had put in a question.

I've been getting it too!
But I just cancelled it each time and Rootschat seemed to go on untroubled. Then I went off and did something else and now I'm back it appears to have disappeared.

I'm so glad I found this post. I thought my laptop had come down with some sort of virus. Every time I look at another page this geneology.org log in box pops up. It's driving me round the bend! >:(

Rootschat is registerd with genealogy.org. It records hits. I have my website registered with them too - see http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,116012.0.html
Normally the genealogy.org icon can be seen (very small) at the bottom of the page (but there's just a hole there at the moment).
I've tried to load genealogy.org page but only get a load of numbers. I think the problem is at their end.

Hi Jane, :)
Sorry about that, now I've found where you all are! ;)
I thought this was only bothering me, pleased to see I'm in very good company and not alone with the little rascal, it was starting to really irritate!
At first I thought it was a present from last night on Ancestry, when I pillaged all their American census returns!
Pleased to hear we are in very safe hands and it is being looked into .. :)
Pels :)

I think the Genealogy.org site is now off-line, and that has sorted the problem, or alternatively someone has fixed things here. Anyway it has gone away (for now at least)

Wahey - thank goodness for that, can't be doing with that malarky lol
Jane ;D

Fingers crossed !!!!
I think julianb was right, the logo/link from genealogy.org is back, and the pop-ups seem to have stopped.
But, ....
Fingers crossed for half an hour or see, and then we can be sure ;D
As it says in the Hitch-Hikers guide to the Galaxy,
Don't Panic !
or better still, let's all go watch the video "Hitch-Hikers guide ...." ;D ;D ;D ;D

Serendipity or the powers that be have resolved this. Nothing to do with your machines - something that ought to be a relief to all of us!

Hi Julian :)
With all the problems that I've been having over the past month, i thought that my dear old ISP might have been playing tricks on me ::) ::) ::)
So glad everyone else had it too - in the nicest possible way.
