If someone is able to lookup a burial found in OCFA for
John Francis HUDSPETH , Coburg Union Cem,
Northumberland Co, Hamilton Twp reference KW-N-N096 it would very much appreciated.
Info on other HUDSPETHS in the same cem would be very helpful if that is not too much to ask. But the John Francis is the key starting point.
I'm asking this for a friend who is a newbie to genealogy and this is literally her starting point.
Thank you very much,
charlotte

Thanks Karen,
The name Adam Hudspeth doesn't ring a bell with me but my knowledge is very slight and it is around John Francis HUDSPETH that our converstation has revolved. My friend will be starting to build up a picture- lucky person to be researching a surname that is not in very general use.
I'll pass the info on and thank you for that help,
charlotte

Thank you, KarenM, Stephen, Janice M, MJP for all the info you have sent. I'll give it to my friend tonight. This all gives her a great starting point. And is a big recommendation for her to join rootschat.
One question ... do you think that there is a booklet in circulation of MIs for Coburg Cem where she could get the actual inscriptions for the list Stephen sent? That is the list on OCFA. Such a book would also give firm dates and maybe contribute to info on relationships between these Hudspeths. I saw such a book for another Ont. cem [Blue Church cem] and it was great-
I guess my question is should I persit in trying to locate someone with this reference book KW-N-N096? Comments very welcome.
Thank you all again-

A book of full transcriptions from Coburg Union Cemetery is available for $20 (it's a large cemetery ;D ) from the Kawartha Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Their reference number for it is N096. See this page:
http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Eonkbogs/Publications.htm
If your friend is in Ontario, the book is probably easily available on inter-library loan from a Coburg-area library.

charlotte...can you advise what time period your friend is looking at in Ontario. I see very few records in Northumberland between 1869 and 1932 although I see two other Hudspeth families in other counties.
There are no death records on the Ontario index in Northumberland for the name Hudspeth between 1869 and 1932.
I have a hunch the original Hudspeth's were in Northumberland but later decendents moved to other areas of Ontario and perhaps even out of Ontario.
Tell your friend I can give her all the BMD's for these periods if she needs them.

Hi Stephen, seeing your kind offer to Charlotte, could you please see if any of my Boulds family are in your records..A warning tho' there are a few variations of this name, but it is the following people I am looking for..
Mum, Florence (nee Charlick) Dad James Boulds who emigrated abt 1906/7 to Lindsay..
Known children were Winifred & Ethel, (whom I have on 1911 census) other known names mentioned in letters , Pearl, Dorothy, Ruby, Johnny, Frederick,& Roy. It is not known if the family ever moved on, James worked for the Grand Union Pacific Railways. Hoping you are successful, warmest thank's,. Dolly.

His name was James Hardy Bools as per the official BMD records of England. His birth was recorded in in the April-May-June quarterly report of 1883. Born in Cornwall District of St. Germans.
Recorded in 1837-1893 Volume 5C page 38
Note: BMD records are listed when repoprted and may differ from the actual event.
CANADA MARRIAGE: (The reason you are having trouble finding the marriage record is both their names are mis-spelled.
James Boole married to Florence Chadick is on the genealogy indexes and writeen record.
They were married in York County, Town of Toronto on on May 13, 1907. Both of them reported their residence as the Town of Toronto, York County on the marriage record.
He listed his age as 23 with his Father as John Boole and his mother as Susan Williams.
She listyed her age as 24 with her Father Frederick G. and her Mother as Elizabeth Price.
Now I see her on the 1891 census in England and the name is spelled CHARLICK. Family of Frederick Charlick and Susannah Charlick. (I see from prior posts you already kenw that and will assume you have her brothers and sisters names.
There is a family tree up at a site that lists only the 4 names you already had from the 1911 census. The following information comes from that tree and not an official source record. sorry but my access to official Canada birth redords stops 1907 so i cannot verify the information.
Winifred Maud was born April 26, 1908 on Laidlaw St. South Cannington.
Ethel was born September 29, 1909
Now when they left York County and moved to Lindsay in Victoria County, Ontario I cannot tell you. However they did have a baby son who died in Lindsay and may lead you to the cemetery they are in. I cannot advise what other children may have been born between Ethel and this baby's death in 1922.
Canada Death Record in Lindsay, Victoria county, Ontario:
Donald Ewart Hardy Bools (notice the same spelling is same as on the English birth record of the father)
Resided at 23 Hamilton St. in Lindsay. Died at age of 1 year 8 months from Acute Nephritis and Pulmonary failure. Both James Bools and Florence Charlick are recorded on the death record as this child's parents. Date of death was Dec. 12, 1922 and they buried the child in Riverside Cemetery on december 13, 1922.
So look for the parents to be buried in Riverside Cemetery.

Lindsay, ON K9V 4R4, Canada

Should I assume you have access to the census records for England for the 1800's?
Some interesting births in St. Germanstown, Corwall, England for the same period as James Hardy Bools born in st. Germanstoewn in 1883.
Maud HARDY Bools born December 1878
Jennefred Bools born September 1877
Edward John Bools born March 1880
Richard Bools born June 1885
Sydney HARDY Bools born December 1886
John Hardy Bools born June 1889
Frances Bools born June 1891
Lucibelle Bools born March 1894
You can order records from the Office of the Registra in England. If you wish to do so you need the volume and Page number for a listed name. Let me know if you wish to do this. I can give you the numbers. I have no idea if they charge for a birth, marriage or death record.
Of course the Canada records you can get out of any branch of the Canada Archives.
You mention a lot of names mentioned in letters. None of those names come up for me in Ontario, Canada. Are these letters going to/from England or within other areas of Canada.
Good Luck- Stephen - New York

Ahhh, Stephen. At last I have found your reply, I had not noticed that there were 2 pages to the topic (silly old me) I must apologize for all of this and thank you most sincerely for all of it, I have some of the info, and yes I do have all of the Englands census.. It was where the family went to after Lindsay that is the mystery but I guess that will be a tough nut to crack. Unfortunately I do not have any other info that could help further, so I shall just have to let it (and you) rest.. My apologies again and also indebted to you for all your trouble.. Regards Dolly..

Hi Bools Progeny, In answer to your question,
I would indeed welcome any info on this family,
I have a list of names on a photograph that was sent to my Mother, of the children of Florence,at that time.
Florence Booles (nee Charlick) was her Aunt.
There is such a variation on the spelling of the name, making it difficilt to know which is the right one. Thanks for your interest, Dolly
To V Bain. much obliged for the most interesting looking sites, will have a good ponder over them,
Dolly.

I am Sue Bools. James Hardy Bools and Florence Charlick were my grandparents. My father was Roy. He and my Uncle Fred both worked on the Railroad like my Grandpa. Only Johnnie and Dorothy are still alive. I would love to see a scan of the picture you have. Do you have any specific questions?
Sue
