Thank you Peter.  I am looking for any history of NUL around 1830's, in particular the Mayer family, one of which, I beleive, was the mayor of the town around that time.

Thank you for that Peter, thats very interesting.  It's interesting about the vets in Pepper St as Samuel's wife was named Mary Pepper before marriage.  I am at work now so I will look at the website this weekend.  Thank you for the info again.  I hope to speak soon.

No don't think so, but then again I have only just started the Mayer family.  I am actually looking for how I am related to the Mayer's, because as yet I do not know which side of the family they belong to.  Info sent to me from Liverpool museum says they were a 'radical and non-conformist family' which sounds great to me. Joseph Mayer is famous for starting that museum and there is a statue to him in St Georges Hall.
