Can anyone please help me? I am looking for information on the McNAIR family, who arrived in South Africa around 1900, as far as I know.
James McNAIR married Louisa RENNIE probably around 1903. He worked for the railways.
Can anyone tell me where in Scotland James came from? His father was Archibald Bruce McNAIR, who may have travelled with other members of the family to settle in South Africa at this time

I'm new to this site & noticed your message. I was wondering if you managed to find any info regarding your ancestors?
My husband's grandfather emigrated to South Africa from Wales shortly after WW1 & worked for the South African railways. He married in Port Elizabeth.
As yet I've been unable to get any info from S.A. but will keep digging.
Any help much appreciated.
