Title: Gainsbough Lincs or Notts?

   hi  everyone                                                                                                                        trying to find out if gainsbough came under lincs or notts  as in census it say s misterton notts but family all reg at gainsbough   and does any one know were   scotter  lincs is or was   as looking for priest fam all reg in gainsbough 1900 on wards  thanks chris

Hi,

Gainsborough is in Lincolnshire.  It is separated from Nottinghamshire by the river Trent.  Misterton is on the Notts. side of the river but this is probably one of the vagaries of Registration districts!

Scotter is about halfway between Gainsborough and Scunthorpe.
