::) Hi There
Can anyone help I have recently discovered that an ancestor of mine was called James Baggot (later to become Bagot) and his brother Martin originated from Galway. Martin was born circa 1820 and James ws born circa 1817. Any help or guidance would be appreciated
Cheers

We could very well be related as i know that james baggot and Martin are from Galway and i am trying to find from where did your Bagots live in london if so there is a strong connection.

:)My James & Martin where both married in 1843 , Martin in the 2nd quarter & James in the James in the last quarter, James had a son called James who in 1870 married Maria Bent who was the younger sister of my Gt Grandmother. They where married in Islington so I assume that is where they lived. Are these the same as your family and if so where abouts did they originate from in Galway
Cheers

Hi, Just found a site which may be of use to you ( and it's free )
www.myirishancestry.com/index.php/plain/user/login
This gives details of the Griffith Valuation Tables for Galway and lists the head of households and details of their property. The tables were compiled around 1855.

Thank you very much,
Are you related to any Bagots?
Thanks again Sylvie

Hi Sylvie,
No I am not related to any of the Baggot's, but thought this site may be of use to you as I found one of mine on it. These were Cordial's, rather an unusual name and I was fortunate as the name only appeared once for the whole of Co. Galway.
Hope you have success.
