Hi All,
I'm looking for any info (Parish Registers look-up hopefully ;)) for the EWIN/EWING/EWENS family in Ballygawley.
Looking specifically for:
Marriage of :
Henry (?spelling)EWING and Jane Bell in c. 1839 Ballygawley.
Marriage of:
Robert/Robin Ewin to Jane Montgomery c. 1805-1809 Ballygawley (would also love to know when they died or where buried??)
Am I asking the impossible?
Any assistance would be really appreciated
Thanks
Di

Hello Lady Di,
What denomination were the Ewin ( Ewing, Ewens) family?
You'll probably have to look at church records as the first Civil registrations in Ireland were non Catholic marriages introduced in 1845. Civil registration for all other marriages as well as births and deaths was not introduced in Ireland until 1864.
I've linked this thread to your Ballygawley Ewin/Ewing(s) & Bell (http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=154269.msg1657256#msg1657256) thread.

Hi Di,
I have just come across your message, I know it was from a few years ago and Im not sure if you have the answers yet but Henry Ewin and Jane Beale (I have shipping records that show her surname was Beale not Bell) were my GGG grandparents. Robin Ewin and Jane Montgomery were my GGGG grandparents.
I have some information about Henry and Jane, such as where they lived, their children, when and where the died and are buried, death certificates etc.
If you are still interested please let me know and I would be happy to provide you with what I have.

Leisa Im wondering can you get in touch, im doing my Ewing(s) family tree, in Omagh Co Tyrone, not far away from ballygawley, but im wondering if my ancestors were connected to yours in ballygawley.
My grandfather was Joseph Ewing married to Rebecca Maud Mitchell. He was one of 13. I have there baptism from Edenderry C of I
His Father was John James Ewings married to Mary Jane McCausland. Her father John McCausland from Deverney, Tyrone where im currently living now. But there was so many McCauslands back then i cannot connect them up.
John James father either John or Samuel the marriage certificate is unclear, but they got marriedin Edenderry Presbyterian in 25th Jan 1877
John James Ewing 20 Benchran of Termonaguirk Samuel Ewing, Labourer
Mary Jane McCausland, 18 Deverney of Cappagh John Ewing
I cannot get any further back. only to know that John James has a brother Samuel married to Pauley and that family tree is being done by Harriette in Canada. But were both stuck at the same point.
In Edenderry C of I death records i do have a samuel ewings and eliza/bridget ewings so im not sure if they are parents are not?
Any help be grateful.
