Can you help me with the following look up.
Looking for information about the parents of Norman Gene Smith born 27 July 1928, living at 95 Olivers road, Ecclesall Bierlow. They were George William and Marian Smith (Marsden). Also would like any info on his brothers and sisters there was 13 in all.
Thanks Sue.

...Norman Gene Smith born 27 July 1928, living at 95 Olivers road, Ecclesall Bierlow.
Olivet Road rather than Olivers:
White's 1919/20 Directory of Sheffield
95 Olivet Road [Norton Woodseats]
Smith George Wm. iron worker
'Ecclesall Bierlow' is the Registration District (based on the poor law union) and covered a large area (half of Sheffield and a bit of Derbyshire). Norton Woodseats is more precise.

Thanks Dalum great
Can I confirm that you have the address as Olivet Road nad I said Oliver is this an error as I see you have typed it twice. The address is definately Oliver Road.
Smith is a bit more dificult though.
Thanks for the info

Well that's puzzling, unless this is the most remarkable coincidence :). In the information I posted above, it is definitely Olivet (Olivet is another name for 'The Mount of Olives' in the bible).
I went back and had a look at the 1919/20 Directory and found I had missed something - the occupier of the house next door:
93 Marsden Thomas, watchman
95 Smith George Wm. iron worker
The listing then has 'Cross Chantrey Street' so Geo Wm Smith lived on or near the corner.
The following is the information at the beginning of the listing for this street:
OLIVET RD. Norton Woodseats
(751 Chesterfield road.)
(No thoroughfare)
I have transcribed all this from a digital image of the original directory, so I am confident it is a correct reading.
Olivet Road and Cross Chantry Road still exist today.
What is the source of the name 'Oliver Road' that makes you certain that it is the right address?

Dear Dalum
On closer examination the birth certificate does say Olivet Road. He always said Oliver Road, what a shock, we even went to see where it was lately.
Thanks for clearing that up for us.

Thanks to Hugh the Marsden side is going great now. Has anyone got any idea about George William Smith and Marian they seems to be the difficult ones.
I understand they were still in the same area. Had a look on an on line Whites 1919 and cant find George Wm Smith.
Noticed that some of the Olivet had been transcribed as Olivat aswell.

You will need the marriage certificate for Marion and George
Mar 1914 Ecclesall Bierlow 9c 474 is the GRO reference but it might be quicker to order direct from Sheffield Register Office. At the moment GRO has long delays due to WDYTYA.

Thanks, alnat, great will do. I live in Sheffield so that is ok.
