Hi
I have William Gray born 30 Aug 1772 in Whittlebury, Northampton, his parents are William Gray and Ann ? Is there any way, her maiden name would appear on the baptism record, and if so, how would I go about applying for this info. Im hoping to find the marriage of William and Ann also, but not sure how to progress with records this old.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi celticgirl
Alan Clarke joined Rootschat yesterday and is offering look ups of all his
marriages and a link to his web site at Northamptonshire Lookup Offers above under Northants 1841.
He should be able to assist with the marriage.
Cheers Sandy

Hi Sandy
I just tried to send an email to Alan Clarke, but it was not delivered. Said something like error - dynablock, at that email address.
Any advice as to where I go from here!
Many thanks.

Hi celticgirl
I looked at the original image for you today so here is what is stated.

William Gray of this parish and Ann Wade of the same By Licence
William signed as Wm Gray and Ann as Ann Wade

Hi again celticgirl
In reply to your 1st request you would not find a mother's maiden name on a child's
baptism certificate unless the child was illegitimate or the reputed father is listed with
her hence noted as both full names.

As to Alan Clarke you can go to his web pages at
http://www.northants-familytree.net and request a look-up from
there if you are having problems doing it from here.
Or go to the Northamptonshire board again which should show you another board
saying Northamptonshire Look ups Offers again click the
left-hand side where it says Northants Marriage Index Look Ups A-L then reply like you do on this board.

Hi Sandy
Thanks for your advice and for looking up. I did manage to get an email to him under another address that I had for him previously.
However, there's another mystery now! On the info very kindly supplied by Alan, it says William Gray married Ann Cleaver of Greens Norton on 15 May 1758 at Whittlebury!
How or where could I go to find out which one is correct. I so appreciate the looks up that you and Alan and others do. I know it takes up time.
Thank you.

Thanks Sandy, but how can I find out which one is mine? If it doesnt show the mothers maiden name on their son's baptism record, what other way can I be sure?
Any advice would be a great help!
