Title: at my wit's end!
Post by: goggy on Sunday 22 October 06 08:53 BST (UK)
G'Day All!
Is there some way to find the wife of a W.W.1 soldier, his home address(,possibly through his allotment's to his family),during a certain period?
Why I ask is because I don't have birth location for two children born after my Mother, she REGISTERED in Waterford Ireland, not clear if BORN there. Fourth child, born Feb;1919 in Liverpool England, and full home address.
So,do I need a miracle or just an impossibility?

Have you tried the 1918/1919 electoral registers/absent voter's lists for the Liverpool address that you have in 1919?

Otherwise, what about the deaths of the other two children ................... will their dates and places of birth be on the certificates (depending upon the time frame of course)?

Casalguidi.
Thank you for your reply,I cannot find two birth,s required,marriage cert;for parent,s,death cert,s for all,BUT,never checked absent voters list.This I will do.
Problem is that I believe, initially, that domicile was Ireland,to England at start of WW1.More than likely to Wife's parent's home, or other rellie's.
The search continue's!
Thank's again,

Hi

Don't know weather this helps, I sent for my husbands grandfathers WW1 records from the Coldstream Guards, when they came back they had listed on them his wife the children that he had when he had enlisted, and also the child he had after he had enlisted. all the names and dates of birth were on the records the wifes name age and their home address, the date and place of their marriage. All in all not a bad £20.00 worth.
I don't know weather every regiments records are as detailed.
It may be worth your while to hunt down his records.

hope this has been some help
