Thank you for your quick response.

I am not sure if this is or isn't  the right one as I have matches on many points but other things don't tally.

The facts that I have are in 1900 Frederick John Godwin married Charlotte Hill.  In 1902 they had a daughter called Charlotte (my grandmother).  Battersea is the right area and Charlotte senior would have been about 25 years of age.

On the other hand why is this Charlotte the head of the house if she married in 1900 and Frederick Godwin is definitely around in 1902?

Did another Charlotte Godwin and Frederick Godwin appear anywhere ele on the Census?

Thank you for your help on this it is appreciated.

East Battersea
Wandsworth

Frederick Goodwin 25  ???? Sun Fire Office  Born Battersea
Charlotte Goodwin  24   Born Kensington

I am sorry I cannot be sure of Fredericks occupation, perhaps heywood would give his opinion?

Thank you.

On Charlotte's birth certificate in 1902 it says the fathers occupation is a messenger at an insurance office.

Could Goodwin be a spelling mistake?

Hi,
yes fairly sure it says messenger with 'Port' above it and Sun Fire Office - so presumably he was a messenger for Sun Fire Office! - just googled that and it did exist.

Hi,

Yes I went back and looked at the page again and it was probably messenger , it is always seems easier when you know the word  you are looking for :)

The entry does say Goodwin but it is probably just the enumerators error :-\

Frances :)
