I just printed off all the COYLE surname deaths in the Parish of Old Kilpatrick - (mainly Duntocher folk.)
There are 88 records - too many to list here, but if anyone wants a transcript - full name, year, age at death, and GROS data - Holler!
Note - I don't have the certificates for all the 88 entries - just the index.
Other surnames, mostly maiden names, or married female names, mentioned within the records include:
Martin
Carruthers
Brannan
Law
McGrath
Smith
Black
McDonald
Brown
Carr
McGranaghan
McGarrigle
Marley
McBrearty
Fisher
McKay
Kane
O'Leary
McAuley
McGarvie
Doherty
Stewart
McFadden
Sibbald
Heggerty
McBride
McCann
Murray
Duffy
Docherty
Donnachie
Hanaghan
McRae/McRoe
McHale
Gillougley
Cunningham
McGuigan
Hope some of these prove helpfull to my fellow Rootschatters!

Hi everyone
I am new to this and would like assistance with the following names please, all of who lived in Duntocher where all my family and connections used to live. Jimmy Coyle, Maggie Malloy, Duffy, Docherty, Deeney, Kelly, Taylor, Gallagher, and possibly Mc Ghee. All the family names originally come from Donegal, from around the Creeslough area. Most of the family named will be buried in the old Dalnnotar cemetery. Thanks for your assistance. Regards

Hi eilean donan :D
Welcome to the Rootschat Forum! I have most of your surnames in my family tree as well. But you will have to be a little more specific, for any of us to make a connection. Names, dates of birth, who they married, where they lived in Duntocher, what kids they had - who the kids married... etc.. all provide more clues so that we can all check our memory banks and files to see if we are related to each other.
The more info the better!
For James Coyle, I have 6 of them in my family file - ranging from abt. 1784 to 1868. Could any of them be your Jimmy Coyle?

Hi Timaru,
I have Stewarts connected to McHales. Hannah Stewart married Thomas McHale, 1926, Duntocher. Hannah was the 9th child of Richard Stewart & Roseann Gallacher. Any connection?

hannah stewart was my grandfather james's sister and thomas mchale was my grandfather patricks brother. :)
-
aha ... so James & Hannah's father was Richard Stewart. brother of my grandfather William Stewart. :)
I know Richard & Roseann had 9 children, but Hannah is the only one I have any details on, courtesy of
Hannah's daughter. I didn't know about the double link with the McHales.

Hi Timaru,
I hope you received my info okay? I have also been having a few server problems, so thought I'd check.
Can you put names to the brothers in the photo? It would be great to know who they all were.

Hi Debbie, would love any info. on Coyle family as I am trying to find information about my Great Grandmothers family. She was Charlotte Coyle married to Stewart McKendrick, know her birthdate and death but not her Mother, Father, Brothers or Sisters.
She had a twin called Sarah, sisters named Catherine( Cassie), Mary, Emma and brothers named Daniel and Edward. They came over in 1900 from Muff/Burt in Donegal from what i can gather to Duntocher/ Clydebank area. Thank you in advance.

Hi Karen, I have gone through my database, and I don't have anything on your names. :'(
But.... I can't find the original list of deaths that I pulled from the indexes, I moved from a huge house, to a tiny flat, and a lot of things got lost in the transition.
I am trying to get back in to scotlands people to retrieve the searches, if I can. But that is proving to be a problem as well, as I have a new address and email address. My log in details don't seem to be working on there! aargh..... not my day...
stay tuned, If I can find the old index, I may have info for you

Hi Karen,
Panic over!! I finally got in to SP, and was able to retrieve the death searches. :)
Here is the info on Annie (Smith) Coyle - died in 1944, so you can order the certificate.
1944 COYLE ANNIE SMITH F 74 OLD OR WEST KILPATRICK /DUNBARTON 501/00 0179
There are a few James' to pick from, you can probably discount the early death dates, and the young ones though -
1877 COYLE JAMES M 11 OLD OR WEST KILPATRICK /DUNBARTON 501/00 0063
1890 COYLE JAMES M 52 OLD OR WEST KILPATRICK /DUNBARTON 501/00 0147
1904 COYLE JAMES MCCANN M 45 OLD OR WEST KILPATRICK /DUNBARTON 501/00 0299
1920 COYLE JAMES M 33 OLD OR WEST KILPATRICK /DUNBARTON 501/00 0013
1925 COYLE JAMES M 2 OLD OR WEST KILPATRICK /DUNBARTON 501/00 0236
1955 COYLE JAMES M 60 OLD OR WEST KILPATRICK /DUNBARTON 501/00 0321
Hope one of these fits your needs!

Oh my goodness how quick were you. Thank you so much information; i got from a website gave burial for both as ST PETER'S DALBETH CEMETERY but Old Kilpatrick is spot on.
1944 date ties in, not sure of others poss. 1904 but never heard of McCann being used obviously will check them out.
Thanks again.

I think the McAnn may be a mother's maiden surname. so if you know your Jame's mom's name, that may either help of discount it.
If none of them fit for James, widen the search. If he died after Annie, he may have moved in with one of his children in another parish before he passed away. Good luck! :D

Glad you're back on board Deb, it's been quiet without you. ;D
