Title: veterans burial ground help
Post by: racey on Tuesday 09 November 04 16:47 GMT (UK)
My great great grandfather was called William Taylor. He was a soldier with the Sherwood Foresters and fought in the Indian Mutiny.
The following article deals with the death of his son, Joseph but it is more or less everything I know about William, apart from the fact that he was still alive in 1912 when he attended a veterans' dinner. I wonder if anyone knows the location of the burial ground referred to. Is it part of the General Cemetery?
I wonder if anyone has any information about the grave or about William himself? I would love to find out about the origins of his father who fought with Wellington but I keep hitting brick walls.
Any help very gratefully received.
