Hello Michelle,
Weston is not a common surname in Ireland. I was at school with a guy of that surname in the mid to late 1940s ('46 to '48). I came across the name again in the mid sixties .. it was the same guy.
I looked at Griffiths Valuation . Roscommon. 1857-8 (http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.php) and found only two listed. There were a few in some other counties.
John Weston, Mountdelvin, Kiltullagh, Roscommon
Anne Weston, Cloonerkaun, Kiltullagh, Roscommon

Hi Michelle,
I've only just started on this family history thing, so forgive me if i seem a little naive, or confused.
I also have an Edward Weston in my tree but the information i have so far suggests 1798 as a birth year. I will admit i have to confirm this yet. He came from Ballinlough, Roscommon and married Emily Arnold of Flitton.
I'd be very keen to see if you have found out any more about these people as i notice your post is now quite old.
i also notice your in South Australia, If you don't mind me asking, What part?
Thanks for listening to my ramble
Gary.

Hi Gary
I've not looked at this part of the tree for a long time but you are correct about Edward Weston, I now have his birth year as 1798. He died in Ampthill in 1876. His wife Emily was born 1811 Silsoe, Beds and died 1895 in Ampthill. Edward is my husband's GGrandfather x3. We live in the McLaren Vale area of South Australia.
