I have come into possession of an old victorian photo album. The only clues I have to the family in it is a newspaper cutting re the Orbituary of a Charles Lewis, Pork Butcher of Snow Hill, Birmingham and later of The Poplars, Foreshaw Heath, Alvechurch. His wife was a Jane Elizabeth Malin, born in Southam.
There is half a letter wrote on headed notepaper of a J S Herbert when he was at Eton College.
I have looked up the Lewis family in several census and Charles and Jane had 3 children. Charles J born abt 1867, Edward A born abt 1869 and Ada J born abt 1870.
Do these names ring any bells with anyone?

I see you are researching Lee in Warwickshire.
We used to know a Mr Lee who lived in Sherborne (near Barford).
He was a friend of my grandparents, and used to have a house next to them at Sandbanks near Poole in the late 50's. He probably passed away in the 70's.
It's a long shot but it might ring a bell with you - you never know...
We are not related of course, but it would be interesting to have a connection.

Hi Tony
Sorry to have taken so long in replying. As far as I am aware my husband's Lee family are all from Coventry and Bedworth in Warwickshire.
Sorry

Oops sorry, I should have clarified.....
Barford is between Leamington Spa and Stratford On Avon - that's where Mr. Lee was living the last we knew (1970's?), but I think he would have come from the Solihull area originally, as that's where my Grandparents were living (a tad before my time).
Good luck in tracking your rellies down.

No sorry not my Lee's
but strangely I used to have an elderly neigbour who was a Lee and had relations living in Hampton Lucy which is very near to Sherbourne and Barford. Unfortunately she died a few years ago so there is no-one I can ask on your behalf.
Regards
Gloria

Oh well, I guess we shall never know. Since my Grandma dies in the early 60's, my Mum 9 years ago and my Dad last month, all links have gone, and I don't know anything more about Mr. Lee other than what I wrote. It was worth a try, and as I said he was only a family friend, but you never know what connections turn up do you.
Good luck in your research and have a wonderful Christmas.
