Title: Pottery near Wilnecote
Post by: SJohn on Tuesday 10 October 06 09:53 BST (UK)
Could someone please tell me the pottery / tile / terracotta manufacturing business which used to be in or near the town of Wilnecote ( possibly closer to Two Gates ) ? I believe I'm correct in thinking that there is now an industrial estate on the site.

How long ago are you talking?  There was a small pottery in the area you are talking about a few years ago...it was on the Hedging Lane industrial estate...in Dosthill which is about 1 mile from twogates.

Thanks for replying, PJ. The business the name of which I'm trying to find would have been going around the First World War. The one you mention seems too recent. I have someone who was employed as a tile presser around the time of WW1.

Yes thats correct it is on the old A5 and is classed as two gates.....i used to work there about 20 years ago myself.  The building itself is still there but it has been taken over by another company now.
Jay.
