Hi,
I have and Epson scanner, (2400 photo) and it seems to do very well.
But I do wonder about combination units, I feel that they are a compromise, and also if one section goes out, that can tie up the whole machine.
I prefer dedicated machines, I think that they are less of a compromise. That being said, the cost is that much greater to purchase dedicated units, and also they take up more room.
                             Regards Ian.

Good point Veloce.

My Epson R300 printer cost me £90 and my flatbed A4 scanner £30, a total of £120.

I, too, also worry about the quality of certain features in all-in-one units, same goes for hi-fi separates as well. A dedicated DVD player will have loads of fancy features than one embedded into an all-in-one hi-fi unit and the features will be of higher quality as well. However they are ideal for those short on space.
