Title: Marriage of Prisclla Jermyn-But who too??
Post by: veritypearson on Thursday 05 October 06 17:28 BST (UK)
I have found a marriage on FreeBMD for Priscilla Jermyn at Stepney 1c 673 in March qtr of 1882.

On this page there are 3 females but only two males.

Is there anyway without applying for her crtificate that I can make sure this is the correct marriage...if it is her husband would have been James Robbins

You could look for him on Ancestry.  It is free at the moment

have you found her/them on the 1891 census ?

That would eliminate the 'wrong' man ... altho none of the males is a James Robbins ?

There should only be 4 names per page in that year - 2 couples marrying - so one of the females is 'wrong' ....

As Sylviaann says - check the full GRO records on Ancestry and see if the District / Vol / Page #s match for the 2 names you know

A priscilla Jane Robbins died in 1884... so no to the 1891 census for her, and we believe he was reamrried by then to Alice Purcell.... both of whom we have found.

I have ancestry, but I do not seem to be able to find james Robbins in it....
