Title: Crumpsall Workhouse
Post by: aggiebagwash on Sunday 01 October 06 16:26 BST (UK)
Does anyone know if there are any surviving Workhouse records for Crumpsall circa 1900/10 and where I would access them?

Local history section at manchester central library would be a good bet.
The Library is in St.peter's square.

Very few records for Crumpsall exist. Manchester Archives had none the last time I tried for them a couple of years ago. I have another chat running as I'm trying to find the census data for the C Wkhs in 1891. You don't happen to have it ?

Hi,

Have posted on you other posting but here's the information again.

Prestwich Asylum 1891

RG12/3272  Folio 63-121

Just had a look and mostly they only give initials for names.

but found one name:
M.A. Bennett  married Aged 25?  born London ,
this name is 23 pages in.  but at least you have a starting point?

Good Luck!
