I would be very interested to hear from anyone researching Thomas Litchfield who married Mary Timmings in Belbroughton in 1804.
I'm trying to establish whether they were the parents of William Litchfield who was born in Sutton Coldfield in 1815.
Many thanks

Hi Forest :D
On the IGI william Litchfield born 02 APR 1815
Christening: 21 MAY 1815 Sutton Coldfield, Warwick, England
Father: Thomas Lichfield, Mother: Mary
You might be better posting your request on the Warwickshire board
as Sutton Coldfield comes under the county of Warwickshire not Worcestershire. :o
Hope this helps :D :-*
Cheers

Hi Jan,
Yes, thank you, I had seen the IGI entry.
From what I have established so far it seems that William's mother died and his father remarried in 1830. The 1841 census shows Thomas to be aged 55 and 'not born in county'.
I've been able to eliminate a first marriage to Mary Smith in Elstow, Beds in 1806, which leaves me with one to Mary Timmings in 1804 in Belbroughton, Worcs. As I don't know where Thomas was born, my feeling was to stick with this Mary in Worcs for the time being. However, as I haven't made any progress in Worcs I might well try the Warwickshire site soon. Thanks again

I know that you wrote this a long time ago but I am a direct descendant of Thomas Litchfield and Mary Timmings and their son William Litchfield born in 1808 in Worcestershire.

Thank you for making contact. I have never been able to establish the surname of my Thomas Litchfield's wife but his son, William, was born in 1815 in Sutton Coldfield. This tallies with his age shown in the 1851 and 1861 censuses. So I feel sure an 1808 birth is too early for him and that 'my' William was not the son of Mary Timmings. Incidentally,his mother, Mary ?, apparently died prior to 1830 when 'my' Thomas re-married and had further children.

@Kjb045 - yes I can share with you what I have. I have Thomas Litchfield’s father as Joseph Litchfield born in 1758 and mother Ann Mills Litchfield. Not 100% this is accurate. I have Thomas and Mary having three kids (William, Henry, John). I’m a descendant of William.

I am not related by have this info;
Bapts
Holy Trinity, Belbroughton, Worcs
ANNE 25 Dec 1805
MARY 17 May 1807 likely buried 30 Jun 1807 (infant)
WILLIAM 31 Jul 1808
EMMA 17 Mar 1811
SARAH 08 Aug 1813
THOMAS 01 Mar 1817
JOHN 09 Mar 1823
Parents THOMAS/MARY Litchfield
Burial same Church besides Mary 1807;
MARY Litchfield 01 Feb 1857 age 72 (1785)
Wm. LITCHFIELD was a witness to the Marriage of Sarah 12 Nov 1832 to Charles WARD
I think the Henry age 6 in 1841 Census is a Grandson of Thomas/Mary.
And likely appears with his Father William (1809) in 1881 Census.
Bapt as William Henry Litchfield to William/Hannah
