Does anyone know anything about Jacques Alexander Braendli from 39 Sheep St, N'hampton. A notice in The Gazette mentioning the company ~ Leather merchants and Factors run jointly by him and my Great Great Uncle Edward Allitt was being dissolved and run in the new name of J A Braendli & Co, the notice was from Gazette of 23/6/1933. Any info at all on this would be welcome
Thanks

Hi Margaret,
Jacques Alexander Braendli was my great grandfather. He lived at 17 Park Ave, Nothhampton, in 1911 (Census). Country of origin - Switzerland (Born circa 1881). Marrried Martha Eleanor Cole. They had six children. Eldest son - George Alexander Braendli, married Doris Daisy Risely. George and Doris had a single child, John Alexander Braendli (my father). Doris died in 1953 and George in 1986. My father passed away Nov 2007.
Hope info is useful. If you have any info to share, it would be highly appreciated.

Earlier this year, I purchased his Special Constabulary long service medal (Geo V, Jacques A Braendli). I have contacted Godfrey, his great grandson, to make contact with him as I'd be happy to reunite the medal with the family.

Hi Godfrey, I am trying to find information about your grandfather's brother, Corporal John Richard Braendli, for a special remembrance project at Uden War Cemetery in the Netherlands, where he was sadly buried. He died on 31 Oct 1944. He was in the 1st Battalion of the Royal Tank Regiment.
I wonder if you have any additional information about him and particularly we are looking for a photograph of him for our Faces to Graves project as we are trying to give each man his own story and a face to the name to ensure they are never forgotten. In time, and if we get enough photographs, a book will be written to commemorate each and every man buried there. Hope you can help.
