Hourihane,
There is a Buckton Vale in Carrbrook, Stalybridge Cheshire which was the site of a large calico printing works (Gartsides) in the late 19the century. See this 1882 map http://carrbrookvillage.users.btopenworld.com/map.htm. The Lodge may have been part of the Buckton Grange estate just NE of the calico printing works.
Your relative John Winston(e) was in the clothing and cloth manufacturing business and may have had business dealings with Gartsides

Hi retiringtype
Thanks for your help, the document with the address on is from 1900 .If John Winston was possibly living at Buckton Grange estate would he be on the 1901 census for that area
-
I can't see him in the 1901 census. There is a death registration for John Winston aged 76 in 1900 Apr-Jun Ashton-under-Lyne 8d 442. That may be him.
I found the 1901 census records for the Bucton Castle area (RG13/3801 folio 140) but I haven't found "The Lodge". I'll check out some adjacent areas.

This site http://carrbrookvillage.users.btopenworld.com/grange.html has the history of Buckton Grange and names of occupants various censuses. No mention of The Lodge though.

Hourihane - I suggest you send an email to carrbrookvillage(at)btopenworld.com , tell them about your ancestor, and ask if anyone can identify the location of "The Lodge", Bucton Vale.

Good morning, Hourihane.
Hope you're still active.
Being a new-ish member, I've been trying to get hold of you. This seems the best way in.
Incidentally, it's not about this - although I would suggest that Bucton might be Beeston [Castle] or Bickerton - both on the Sandstone Ridge in S. W. Cheshire.
A friend of mine has an accepted offer to buy Llanwrtyd Hall, and I turned up your post regarding the Waters / Winstons. He's absolutely fascinated! Can you give any further information?
I'd be most obliged if you could contact me.
Many thanks!
Susie
