Great Grrandparents got married in Holy Trinty, Bedford in 1883. Tracing them through the following census and where my grandmother was born they always lived within close distance.
Problem is going through the fiche for baptisims at the SOG last weekend none of their children were baptised there. GGD is a brick wall before they married. but her family seemed to love filling in forms and registering people.
I want to look at other churches without hopefully going through them a-z
What would possibly be the next place they would have gone to, to have their children baptised? The last child I am aware of was born in 1900.
No problem going through all of the fiche if I have to but I would like to put off getting glasses for a while if you know what I mean.......... :-[
Thank you!

Where were the children born? In Bedford - do you have copies of their birth certs which may give an address? They could have moved within Bedford to a different parish eg St Pauls, and baptised the children there. Where was the mother from? Might the children have been baptised in her parish of birth?
Might they have been non-conformist so didn't baptise their children in the established church; or simply didn't baptise them at all?
I'd go for the birth certs in preference to a possible needle in a haystack search for baptisms!

David

Apologies to you both for my late reply. ( I'm not normally like this alot of things have dragged me away).
I do plan to get the certs bit by bit as I can afford, I recently became a memmner of the SOG as it's close to where I live and a great opportunity to use the fiche that they have in the mean time. Especially as the surname was a popularish one for Bedfordshire ( Dean) although my GGF came from Staffordshire, and I also hoped that I may pick some things out in the parish Registers that I wouldn't in the BMD indexes.......
I've gone through mums parish records in Ravensden and they were not Baptised there.
Addresses I have so far are Ford End Road, Church Sq, Green Hill St, Thurlow St and Russell St.
My dad was the son of one of the girls and was fostered out through the Church ( he was born in Church Sq) So I'm also trying to pin down a relationship between a church in Bedford and one in East London........
Cathy i'm planning to try and go through all the Deans in the NA for service records for ww1 I think mst of Dads uncles would have dropped their first names LOL fancy they were! and a bit German........ But I think that was more to do with their parents seeming to like the Victorian Royalty..... Which with their more usual second names, throws the net a lot wider.... and needs me to look at other things that may be on the joining records for WW1.
But thank you both very much and if you come up with some more ideas I'l be really pleased!
all the best
Sharon
