That is a difficult one - unless he remarried but I can't seem to find a matching marriage.
I've found John and Jane's burials though if that helps any -
John CUSWORTH buried. 11 July 1869 age 68 at All Saints, Wath Upon Deane
Jane CUSWORTH buried. 29 June 1876 age 67 at All Saints, Wath Upon Deane
There's also burials for
Joseph CUSWORTH buried. 9 Sept 1843 age 67
James CUSWORTH buried. 25 Feb 1853 age 87
and a burial for a Joseph CUSWORTH on 27 Aug 1894, but no age on the record - might be the Joseph born in abt 1846

Hello Sylvia,
Looks like you could be getting pretty close to one on my lines of Cusworths - see my picture, left. It shows Emily Jane Cusworth b. 04/04/1869, Wombwell. (Not far from Wath, in case you're not local).
Her parents were George Cusworth (b. 1827) and Ann (nee Eastwood).
George's parents were William (c. 1790) and Susannah (c.1801). (This is about as far as I've got, though, so far.)
Just to let you know that it seems the Cusworths were quite into big families, and that there could be several cousins around at the same time all called John, George, Joseph etc, so could get a bit tricky sorting one family from another.
My lot lived around the Wombwell, Wath-upon-Dearne, Bolton-upon-Dearne areas. Let me know if I can help in any way (I still live locally and my son goes to a Wath school), and I can get to Rotherham library occasionally if you need anything looking up in Parish Registers.
Feel free to PM me if you want to, :D

-
Hi Sylvia,
Try this link:
http://www.rootschat.com/links/0bq/
It should take you to the FamilySearch site and onto the IGI page. You could then save it in your "favourites" so that you have access straight to it.
Happy hunting,
Sally :D

Ok pulled enough hair out over this one
Can any one please help
I have two sets of family which apear to be the same ones from brer 1841 census and 1851 census
Now all names are the same but when it comes to joseph jahn on the 1941 census they were born in 1834 and are 7
but in 1851 census they were born in 1843 and 1846
all other family members match
so am baffled by this have checked as many sites as I know without any luck
-
It is possible that the first ohn and Joseph died and they re used the names.
Have a hunt through the birth and death indexwes, currently free to search on ANcestry.
The other possibility is that the ages a re wrong in 1851!
-
tried ancestry but it tells me i have to pay lol
-
Should be free!
On the home page look at the 'more collections' list, and click on 'England and Wales BMD indexes'
Then go to the section for full indexes 1837-1983.
i started to look for you, but it is better if you search yourself. Cusworth is quite unusual and those that are there are all in that Yorksghire area, so probably all fit in your tree somewhere!! So it's better for you to browse that me just to report back on John and Joseph!
-
Looking at the burials in Wath upon Deane, there's only one Joseph CUSWORTH who would have been born in 1834 -
7 Nov1858 Joseph CUSWORTH age24 All Saints, Wath upon Dearne
I can't find an entry for John though

I think I might have this bit sussed...... :D
On the 1841 John and Hannah have George(2) and Esther(5m).
The John and Joseph aren't theirs. On the IGI twins John and Joseph Cusworth are baptised on 26 Jan 1834 - mother Tamer Cusworth. (Not the one in the same household - she's too old.)
Also on IGI - christening of Tamar Cusworth on 29 Aug 1802 (born 9 Aug 1802) - parents Joseph Cusworth and Tamer Wade.
(All these are Wath-on-Dearne)
Will keep trying to sort these families......there's loads of them!! Somewhere along here my lot MUST be linked! :D
