Deadants..........have been looking in the above post and tried the following link

Here's a link with instructions on a way to use layer masks in Elements. It works!

I got a message saying it could not connect to database, tried www.photofocus.com on its own and got a message saying the site was for sale!

Hope I'm not jumping the gun or repeating anything you are already aware of, just thought you'd like to know

Thanks kaz, I have struck that link of the list. It will be interesting to see who buys the Domain name from them.

Colin, would these tutorials apply to Photoshop Elements as well.  Sorry if i seem a bit thick here, but I am aware there are many versions of photoshop out there, would assume they are all pretty much the same but not sure

I had a quick look at Colin's website and yes, many of these tuts do apply to Elements. Obviously there are some that won't, as Elements doesn't contain all the functions of the full Photoshop (from what I can gather), curves being one example  ::).
