Title: Ludlows in Kent
Post by: Debral on Monday 25 September 06 22:48 BST (UK)
Hello I'm new to this so bear with me.

I was luck enough to find someone that had started my family tree and i'm now trying to develop it.

Any help or comments always welcome or notes compared. :)

Thanks!

Ok time to make a start! :)  I have a few name gaps in my tree so lets see if I can fill them with some help and guidance... :)

I am trying to find the surname of the 'Susanna' (born 1725 in Southfleet) married to Henry Ludlow, born 1723.  They had a son (though might be more) George Ludlow, born 1753.

Hows the best way to tackle this?

Thanks in advance everyone.. :)

Hi Deb,
Where in Kent do the Ludlows come from?  There are quite a number recorded on 'City Ark' website in relation to South Darenth etc.

Regards

Roger

Hi Roger

Seems my line is mostly in Darenth area and then Sutton-at-hone.
Funny you should mention City Ark, I have been going through it... slowly.. LOL... and have found a few but Henry and Susanna are still eluding me.  I have found the birth of their children in Southfleet but can neither find their marriage in Darenth OR southfleet!  Shall keep looking though.
I feel I shall have to write it all down and 'guess' the dates roughly and check again.

I see you have "Walter" Kent... my Mum is a Walter from Kent.

Kind Regards
Debra

Hi Debra,
If you go into CityArk and look for 'St Margaret's of Antioch' church for Darenth...look at baptisms and marriages you'll find loads of Ludlows there.  I was born in Darenth and went to school with a Graham Ludlow...sad to say he was killed in a cliff fall in 1961/3.

Maybe this wont help a great deal....... but then again..

Best

Debra,
Click on the above, this may help with siblings of George....maybe you'll have them by now anyway.

All the best

Roger

Sorry for the late reply, Blueyonder was down all weekend in our area!

Thank you again for the great help... I was actually just starting on the siblings but hadn't yet added them, so thats some more spaces filled. :)

All the records in the CityArk will keep me busy for a while longer...  :o  I love the accounts that the ministers/vicors write in them.. one of them was really bothered by clandistine weddings in the Act of Parliment.. ;)

Thanks

Debra

My great grandmother was Phyllis Ludlow and came from Darenth area of Kent.  My tree is on Genesconnected.  Are you on that site, if so i can send it to you.

Hi Paj61, sadly I'm not on Genesconnected.  My mum is though so if you have a look for Ludlow/Walter on their you may find her.  Look for Debra Ludlow in the tree. :)

Would be nice to see where you fit into the tree :)

Hi Debral.

I've recently been going through the Fawkham, Ash and Horton Kirby registers on Cityark looking for my Daltons and Packmans, but noticed quite a lot of Ludows in those registers. If you haven't already found the ones you are looking for it might be worth taking a look.
