Hello Tara
I'm puzzled............if you know of no other family members? where did you get his name from? and how do you know his age?
does he appear in other census? if so show us him..............have you mistranscribed him?

There are four FALKINDER households in Burgh 1841 (but no Fred).
Could this be him?
641-12/9
Orby
Thomas FALKINDER 35 AgLab
Azubah 35
Jane 10
Young 8
Frederick 4
All born Lincs
I think it is ... IGI has Fred bap 27 June 1837 at Burgh, son of Thos and Azubh

My version is slightly different to yours!
1841
Gunby Road, Orby
THOMAS FALKINOLER 30 GAME K (Keeper) Y
AZUBAH " 35 Y
JANE " 10 Y
YOUNG " 8 Y
FREDRICK " 4 Y
WILLIAM " 2 Y
---------------------
I can see the Falkinder's in Burgh Le Marsh............so I would have thought that what I have transcribed as Falkinoler is Falkinder !
But is it the family that Tara is looking for?

Hi Bryant and Geoff
thanks for the look up, one of the census's has some Salkind's in Lincolnshire so i was wondering if they were connected to my Salkind's in essex, but it now seems that there was a mistake on the census with the spelling of the name that they are actually FALKINDER not Salkind
thanks

sorry my Salkinds are norfolk, Geoff's response confused me, that or the fact that i was replying on a monday morning :o
Simon was born in london somewhere, I'm hoping to find some Salkinds in the 1841 when it is released on ancestry else i think i may have come to a dead end with the Salkind family as i don't know where in europe they came from or when they arrived in England, i know they were Jewish. Wife Hannah is from Russia or Poland, her maiden name is Harris (but this might not be the name she had in Poland?) but i cannot find a marriage record for them.
i thought it would be easier than most as the name is not common.
oh well ::)

My maternal grandmother's maiden name is Salkind. Her father was David Salkind and her mother was Hannah. It's embarrassing, but I'm still trying to find out Hannah's maiden name as well as the names of the parents of David and Hannah. They are Jewish and I believe the family came over to the United States from Russia or Lithuania in the late 1800's or the turn of the century, although I am working on this as well. I wonder if there is any connection between the Salkind's living in England. I am hoping to get a better idea of the family tree in the next few weeks and I will post anything I find.
